Rehearsal Notes from #EcoShakespeareLab
Since September, internationally distinguished playwright and director Mónica Maffía has been running an Eco-Shakespeare Lab at El Cultural San Martin in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she is currently artist in residence. Working with several theatre artists on the text of Cymbeline, the Shakespeare Lab will act as an incubator for the Setebos company’s production as part of Cymbeline in the Anthropocene. Below is a sneak peek at Mónica’s notes from the Shakespeare Lab’s first five sessions: fragments and reflections from the workshops in progress. The text is presented in Mónica’s original Spanish, with an English translation below.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) was staging the final two performances of their summer touring season in contrasting locations: Belgrade, a railroad depot and bedroom community outside of Bozeman, also the site of the area’s airport; and Missoula, second largest city of the state, a river valley hub, and home of the University of Montana.
