Globe 4 Globe: Register Now!
Cymbeline in the Anthropocene is excited to announce that many of our collaborators will appear in this month's virtual Globe 4 Globe symposium on April 23rd and 24th. The event is co-hosted by the research department from Shakepeare's Globe in London and the University of California Merced's Katie Brokaw and Paul Prescott--the very same directors of Shakespeare in Yosemite's Imogen in the Wild.
After its spring 2020 iteration was postponed due to Covid-19, the Globe 4 Globe symposium on "Shakespeare and Climate Emergency" is now offering free registration to anyone across the globe (pun intended!). The two-day event follows Earth Day and coincides with Shakespeare's 457th birthday.
The symposuim opens with a triple keynote address featuring sustainability expert Solitaire Townsend, Indigenous theatre artist and educator Madeleine Sayet, and eco-Shakespeare scholar Randall Martin, the founder and project leader of Cymbeline in the Anthropocene.
The panels and workshops that follow feature contributions from many of our collaborators: Sue Best and Philip Bowen from the Willow Globe, Evelyn O'Malley from the University of Exeter, and Gretchen Minton from Montana State University and Montana Shakespeare in the Park.
