Performance Announcement: Cimbelino en la Patagonia
This April 2022 brings many celebrations: Earth Day, Shakespeare's birthday, and performances of Cimbelino en la Patagonia, the Spanish-language adaptation from our collaborators the Setebos Company in Argentina!
This exciting adaptation parallels the colonial struggles in Cymbeline with a similar history of conflict in Argentina's southernmost Patagonian region. Filled with a variety of regional dances performed by a multi-talented cast that collaborated in the creation of this production, Cimbelino en la Patagonia performs April 22nd and 23rd at the Centro Cultural 25 Mayo in Buenos Aires. Click here to purchase tickets for either performance.
In the days leading up to the performance, you can also catch a public talk by Cymbeline in the Anthropocene's project leader, Randall Martin, who will present a lecture titled "¿Puede eco-Shakespeare salvar el planeta? / Can eco-Shakespeare save the world?" Dr. Martin's lecture takes place the evening of April 20th at the same venue as the performances; click here for more details.
We are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of director Mónica Maffía and Setebos. Join us in following their progress at @cimbelinoenlapatagonia on Instagram, and if you are in Argentina later this month, join us for the performance!
