Cymbeline on CBC Ideas
The story of Cymbeline in the Anthropocene has made its way to a new format. An audio documentary featuring the CA team and collaborators is now available from the IDEAS podcast, which is produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). The documentary is available on demand on the CBC website or on the CBC Podcasts app https://www.cbc.ca/radio/ideas/how-shakespeare-s-strangest-play-helps-us-confront-the-climate-crisis-1.6574152.
Producer Pauline Holdsworth artfully presents the plot of Cymbeline, the play, with the story of how our international collaborators engage transformed Shakespeare's strangest play into a flashpoint for local ecological issues. Featuring interviews with directors Rob Conkie (Melbourne, Australia), Gretchen Minton (Bozeman, Montana, USA), and Mónica Maffía (Buenos Aires, Argentina) as well as with CA project leader Randall Martin and researcher Rebecca Salazar, the documentary distills years of academic thought and theatrical invention into a wonderfully engaging hour.
Please join us in celebrating the end of this project by looking back through this intricately curated piece of collective story telling, and join us in thanking Pauline and CBC IDEAS team for helping us bring Cymbeline's mysteries and magic to new listeners.
